MP Repeats Commitment to Pershore’s Banking Hub

Temporary solution is located in Pershore’s library

Dame Harriett Baldwin MP has repeated her commitment to deliver a permanent banking hub in Pershore. The MP visited the temporary solution, located in Pershore’s library, when it opened in the Spring allowing customers to carry out cash and banking transactions and meet with representatives from high street banks. With the Lloyds Bank in Pershore now closed, a permanent banking hub location is not yet confirmed although two sites are currently being considered for use. Dame Harriett has asked for an update on plans to move this project forward  as quickly as possible.

Dame Harriett said: “I am pleased that Pershore’s temporary solution is in place in the town’s library and I’ve had positive reports from local people that the hub is working well. The most recent updates from Cash Access are very light on detail about progress towards a permanent home for the hub, I’ve been working with them and local stakeholders for over a year to unblock any obstacles. This is an issue that needs significant extra effort during the summer to get a permanent solution in place and I have offered Cash Access my repeated support as it seeks solutions to this important matter.”
